The Lucia Mar school board rejected an effort to ban a prize-winning author’s book from the #ArroyoGrande High School #library at a meeting on Thursday. “The Bluest Eye” centers on a young Black girl and her experiences with internalized racism and cyclical abuse in post-Depression-era Ohio.
